The San Roque Club is obviously
very much golf orientated with
two top class courses –
San Roque I and II.
The Old Course (San Roque I) is
a stunning par 72 course designed
by Dave Thomas and has hosted
the Spanish Open, the European
Tour Qualifying School and many
other great events. This famous
course is very challenging and
winds through cork groves and
features some of the best views
on the Costa del Sol. The New
Course (San Roque II) opened in
2004, and designed by Perry Dye
in association with Seve Ballesteros,
has already been used for European
Tour School final qualifying.
This very long, demanding course
features much water and forestry
and is already being spoken of
as a serious challenger to the
Old Course. It may be possible
to arrange some discounted golf
by arrangement directly with the
owners.
Not only are there the two courses
at San Roque but the famous Ryder
Cup championship course at
Valderrama,
the
Real
Club de Golf at Sotogrande,
Alcaidesa
Golf and the Almenara and
La
Canada courses. They are all
within a 10 minute drive.
The David Leadbetter Golf Academy
(formerly the Seve Ballesteros
Natural Golf School) offers quality
golf instruction to players of
all abilities. There is a full
driving range and practise ground
on the site.
